This week’s featured book for the Virtual Book Club for Kids is Sometimes Rain by Meg Fleming and is a wonderful telling of the fun to be had in all the different weather throughout the 4 seasons of the year.
From spring showers to frosty toes and snowmen noses. It’s a beautifully illustrated rhyming book that features lots of different weather situations for you and your preschooler to read about together.

But, what we have found from running these weeks for a few years is that spreading the activities over a full week starting with the sensory play activity lets you spend quality time on each activity and allows indpendent play in the sensory bin whenever you child would like to.

Sometimes Rain by Meg Fleming and Weather Week Activity Plan for Preschoolers
A week of simple and easy planned activities for preschoolers themed on weather around the featured book Sometimes Rain by Meg Fleming
This week's sensory bin is a weather theme with clouds and rain, set up in an area that you don't mind getting wet or if you are lucky and the weather is good then outside for a little fun each day.
It's another sensory bin and this time a cloud sensory bin for an alpahebt hunt. Easy to set up and create and ideal for your little ones to find the letters and match.
A little prep needed to create the umbrellas but you could then use to create a number display for your preschooler with this fun colour and number matching umbrella game ideal for rain!
So much choice here for snack making with your preschooler, we love the banana and blueberry rainclouds but take your pick based on what you have available.
Our last activity for the week a rain cloud craft for your preschooler to make. This is a fun craft that creates a great rain picture and at the same time works on fine motor skills.
